It is the second largest city of Canada as well as the cultural capital city of Canada. It is dominated by French culture but still many people can speak in English. It has lots of history in comparison with all the other metropolitan Canadian cities. Visiting this city is fun for both tourists, who are interested in historical sites and architectures and those people, who are interested in entertainments.
Old Montreal (Montreal city hall, Bonsecours market, old Montreal port, Chinatown, Palais de Justice and etc.)
One of the oldest parts of Canada as well as north America is old Montreal, which is located beside St. Lawrence river. By having famous historical buildings such as Montreal City Hall, Palais de Justice, Bonsecours market and Basilique Notre-Dame, it attracts millions of tourists every year.
Old Montreal in Winter Time
Winter is completely colder in Montreal than Toronto. However old Montreal is still beautiful in the snow season and it is fun to walk on its old pavements and see the historical buildings inside this part of Montreal.

Basilique Notre-Dame in old Montreal
One of the most beautiful churches in Canada is Basilique Notre-Dame, which has a very special dramatic architectures.
Montreal Downtown
Dense populated area between St. Lawrence river and mount Royal, in the middle of Montreal, is considered as Montreal downtown. St. Catharine street in the middle of downtown by hosting lots of entertainment and commercial activities, playing a major role in downtown Montreal.
McGill University
McGill university is one of the best universities of Canada and the world and according to many reliable world ranking, it is among the top 100 best universities of the world. Its financial endowment is close to one billion dollars and it is built beside the mount royal in downtown Montreal.

Mount Royal
It is a mountain in Montreal island just north of Montreal downtown. Some of the best views of Montreal island can be seen at the top of this mountain.
St. Joseph Church
This catholic basilica is the largest church of Canada and it is located on the north side of mount royal.
Environment Canada's Biosphere & Parc Jean-Drapeau
This park is one of the most famous parks in Montreal and it is situated in the middle of the St. Lawrence river. In this park, one can find the Montreal Casino (Casino de Montreal), Montreal Biosphere museum, the beach and several beautiful bridges. In the Montreal biosphere museum, main environmental issues are presented to the public in the building, which was used previously by the USA for the 1967 World Exhibition (Expo 67).

Olympic Stadium & Concordia University
Olympic stadium was the main place for the 1976 summer Olympic and it is also known and can be seen as a white elephant.
Montreal in Winter Time
Montreal streets are decorated by colorful lights in the winter time. Specially the Montreal downtown and its street as well as the old Montreal are beautiful in the snow season. However, to be frank, they are not as beautiful as they are in the warm season.
